Questions other contractors ask

What does it cost?
The baseline directory listing is free — no setup fee, no monthly minimum. We also offer optional paid placements: Featured tier on your city's page, sponsor slots on hub pages, and (coming soon) a contractor subscription with priority routing. All paid options are opt-in, never required to be on the directory.
Do I need an NCLBGC license?
If the work you do legally requires it (most grading + general contracting at residential scale), yes — that's how NC regulates the trade and how we verify you. If you operate in a scope that doesn't require an NCLBGC license (hauling-only, demolition, etc.), apply anyway and tell us what you do. We'll figure out the right verification path.
How do you decide who gets approved?
We check three things from public sources: active license status (NCLBGC), OSHA serious-violation history (3+ serious violations is a hard demote), and Workers' Comp coverage via the NC Industrial Commission. We're not a paid review platform — the verification bar is real, and the same for everyone.
What happens to my contact info?
What you tell us to publish goes on your listing page (phone, website, service area, hours). What we collect for the application (your email, your role, the message field) stays internal — we use it only to reach you about your listing. We don't sell contractor contact info.
How do inquiries get routed?
Customers can call you directly off your listing page or submit a quote request. Routing today is intent-based — a customer's quote request typically reaches a small set of relevant contractors so they can decide who to engage. As we grow we may add paid distribution tiers and other routing options; whatever the model, you'll always have the option to opt in or out per request.
